Our Groups

Fun and Fellowship Wednesday Night Supper
A highlight through the year is we gather at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall for an amazing meal. After supper, we have a variety of activities for fellowship with our church family.

 Bible Study
Each Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. the group meets to read and discuss one chapter of the bible.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is open to youth and adults who want to help lead in worship. We sing a variety of music from Renaissance to the present. We encourage all soloist, groups, and instrumentalists who wish to participate in music. We meet Sunday mornings at 8:45am. We enjoy fellowship and sharing with each other.

SilveWednesday Night Supperr Circle
The Silver Circle is the organization of the "senior citizens" of the congregation. We may have silver hair, but we are young at heart! The group offers fellowship for its members, and it keeps them informed of activities and programs of the church. We meet on the third Friday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Our meetings always begin with a selection of jokes, and then we worship with a devotional, and celebrate those who have birthdays during that month. Following an informative and entertaining program, we enjoy a catered luncheon. The programs vary from presentations about the local government to musical performances to travelogues by some of the members. From time to time we enjoy an out-of-town trip to some point of interest; in the past we have visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta or a peach packing plant in Fort Valley to name a few. One does not have to be a member of the congregation to join the Silver Circle, and we welcome all who would like to enjoy fellowship with us.

Children's Ministry
Children's ministry at First Presbyterian is based on our belief that discipleship depends on strong relationships and Biblical teaching. The whole church is encouraged to get involved in our intergenerational events. Sunday morning "Discover" is offered for children ages 5 - 12. Every Sunday there is a Junior Church for ages 5 - 10 as a part of the worship service. Our children's ministry is flexible and is sure to change based on the needs of the children in our congregation.

Presbyterian Women Logo Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women (PW) provides the women in our church meaningful ways to live out our faith through a caring community of women. Our goal is to strengthen the Presbyterian Church and to share the good news of Jesus Christ in word and action through out our local community and the world. Currently we have two groups of women that meet regularly. The Birdsong/Jenkins Circle meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the church parlor. The Girardeau/Simpson Circle meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Meetings are held January through June and September through December. In our circles we nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study. PW sponsors a church-wide food drive to collect food for the House of Care Food Pantry. We also help distribute food when our turn comes around. New members are always welcome. Come be a part a very caring, supportive, and dedicated group of women.

Prayer Room
Our Prayer Room Ministry was started in June 1998. Members of our church visit the Prayer Room on a weekly basis and pray for those who have personally requested prayers and those whose names are placed by others. At this time there are always people prayed for and sent prayergrams. The strength of our Prayer Room Ministry lies in our Intercessors. The more we have the more powerful our ministry becomes. We ask you to consider joining us in this work of faith.
